Beginning in 2012, on all planes of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair equipped with a broadband connection (Internet) at speeds up to 50 Mbps

News about Wi-Fi connection in the plane had long since we’ve heard but this one even better news. Cathay Pacific and Panasonic Avionics Corporation has just signed a partnership contract where the latter in all planes of Cathay Pacific and Dragonair has been equipped with a broadband connection (Internet) at speeds up to 50 Mbps.

Encouraging here, direct internet connection can be enjoyed in the in-flight entertainment available on the seat or using existing LCD screen in the passenger seat (called eXConnect) so that does not carry a mobile phone or cell phone no Wi-Fi connections could still enjoy it this.

Besides, who has a smart phone or Blackberry can also use their phones to make telephone calls to send SMS (called eXPhone).

Unfortunately this new service we can enjoy the beginning of the year 2012 and also not mentioned whether this service applies to all types of passengers or only in business class.
