We can’t deny that the Asus Eee Pad Transformer has become one of the most popular Android tablets in the market. It all thanks to the keyboard that can transform the Asus Eee Pad Transformer into a mini laptop or netbook when docked to the tablet. However, the keyboard must be purchased separately, but it doesn’t hold its users to make it able to transform from an Android tablet into a netbook.
Even though it has become one of the most popular Android tablets in the market, some countries still haven’t received it yet, such as countries like India that are still waiting for the launch of the tablet. Well, it seems that the problem doesn’t stop Asus from making the successor of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. There are rumors about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 that will be powered by the NVidia Tegra 3 processor and will run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich. The rumors also say that the tablet will be launched in October or November 2011.
The Asus Eee Pad Transformer itself is a regular Android Honeycomb tablet with 10.1 inch display like the Acer Iconia, Motorola Xoom, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. What makes it different from the other Android tablets is the keyboard that can transform it into a netbook (It seems that the name Transformer itself came from this function). The Motorola Xoom also has similar function. It also has a bluetooth wireless keyboard that can be paired to make the typing activities easier.
If the rumor is true about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2′s processor. It will be about five times faster than the original Asus Eee Pad Transformer, since the NVidia Tegra 3 processor is said to be five times faster than the NVidia Tegra 2 processor.
