MSI Wind U135 and MSI Wind U160 Hands On

MSI had two new netbooks at CES 2010 which included the MSI Wind U135 and MSI Wind U160.

While these had already been previously announced before CES it was nice to go hands on with them. The MSI Wind U160 sports a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N450 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 250 GB HD and a Windows 7 Starter for $399. The MSI Wind U135 also runs the 1.66GHz Atom N450 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, Windows 7 Starter and a six-cell battery.

The main differences I saw in these netbooks was in their design and just a slight bump to the specs. They both go with a new chiclet style keyboard that felt really nice to type on. None of the new Wind netbooks will get a 1366 x 768 resolution screen though. Instead they will stick to the all too familiar 1024 x 600 resolution. To be fair, almost all netbook manufacturers are sticking to the lower resolution for now though.
