Asus Says No Transformer Prime 3G In The Work

There have been a number of reports over last few days that Asus would be releasing a 3G enabled version of their new Transformer Prime tablet, and now Asus has responded to the rumors.


Asus has said that they have no plans to launch a Transformer Prime 3G in their current roadmap and that there will only be a WiFi version of the Transformer Prime tablet.

The Asus Transformer Prime recently went on sale in the UK, although many people had a hard time getting their hands on this new Ice Cream Sandwich tablet.

Asus also showed us a new version of the Transformer Prime at this years CES, which has some upgraded specifications over the original version.

The new Asus Transformer Prime that was recently announced features a Super IPS+ display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, which compares to a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels on the existing Transformer Prime.

Other specification on the new Transformer Prime include a quad core 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, dual cameras with an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a front facing 2 megapixel camera.

The new updated Transformer Prime will be available in quarter two of 2012 with prices starting at $100 more than the existing model with the lower resolution display.
