"HATE MALAYSIA" is currently a trending topic in Twitter worldwide and I am curious about it. Most of the tweets are coming from Indonesians, so I guess this is a silent war between Indonesia and Malaysia. At first, I thought it was just all about the AFF Suzuki 2010. On December 26, 2010, Malaysia played football against Indonesia, and Malaysia won with the score of 3-0. So maybe Indonesians won't accept their lost over Malaysia.
However, there is a deeper story behind this "Hate Malaysia" thingy. When I posted this question over Twitter, an Indonesian has replied providing me a link stating the reasons why they hate Malaysia. It is because Indonesians think that Malaysia stole their culture. On that link, I found a list of culture, items and other things that Malaysia has taken from Indonesia, and here is the list:
1. Codex from Riau by Malaysian Government
2. Codex from Sumatera Barat by Malaysian Government
3. Codex from Sulawesi Selatan by Malaysian Government
4. Codex from Sulawesi Tenggara by Malaysian Government
5. Rendang from Sumatera Barat
6. Rasa Sayange Song from Sumatera Barat
7. Reog Ponorogo Dance from Jawa Timur by Malaysian Government
8. Soleram Song from Riau by Malaysian Government
9. Injit-injit Semut Song from Jambi by Malaysian Government
10. Gamelan from Jawa by Malaysian Government
11. Kuda Lumping Dance from Jawa Timur by Malaysian Government
12. Piring Dance from Sumatera Barat by Malaysian Government
13. Kakak Tua Song from Maluku by Malaysian Government
14. Batik Parang from Yogyakarta by Malaysian Government
15. Badik Tumbuk Lada by Malaysian Government
16. Indang Sungai Garinggiang Song from Sumatera Barat by Malaysian Government
17. Ulos Cloth by Malaysian Government
18. Angklung Musical Instrument from Jawa Barat by Malaysian Government
19. Jali-jali Song by Malaysian Government
20. Pendet Dance from Bali by Malaysian Government.
I hope that Indonesian will start loving Malaysia and Malaysian will start loving Indonesia because after all, we are all one WORLD. Let's love, not hate.
